LESSON TWO HUNDRED SEVENTY-EIGHT

 

L e s s o n  278

If I am bound, my Father is not free.

For God is One with Me, and I with He. And this must be throughout Eternity.

So from within this painful human dream, Father, how do We get free? Belovèd Ones, let Us continue, and You will see.

We start with Your beliefs, led by ego. Heed what I’m saying very carefully:

¹ If I accept that (what I have been taught) I am prisoner within a body in a world in which all things that seem to live appear to die, (how preposterous when God is My Life, so how could it be?), then is my Father prisoner with me. (More insanity!) And this do I believe when I maintain the laws the world obeys must I obey—the frailties and the sins which I perceive are real and cannot be escaped. Were this true then only hell would be real. And I am telling You there is no hell – but for the dreaming. Thus Heaven is – can be – the only Real. If I am bound in any way, – kept in bondage by all My strange beliefs – I do not know my Father or my Self, for I dwell in dreams. And I am lost to all reality, as long as I sleep. For truth is free, and what is bound is not a part of truth. It’s very simple: You’re bound by refusing to awaken. You are dreaming hell; it does not exist!

² Father, I ask for nothing but the truth. Please help Me mean this and remember it! I have had many foolish thoughts about myself and my creation and have brought a dream of fear into my mind. I am so frightened, both by My dreams and by awakening. Today I would not dream. At least I am willing to be aroused! And I need Your help! I choose the way to You instead of madness and instead of fear. Just the thought of You brings relief to Me. For truth is safe and only love is sure. And Truth and Love and Life are found with You, My belovèd God. It takes but a change of mind – from My long allegiance to the ego – back to You.
