The Christ Among Us

By J. Michaels*

[as it appeared in the December 2010 Newsletter]

Costumed in body

Attending the grand masquerade

Hidden below the surface

Without leave to unmask, He fades

Imprisoned we are

By mind’s heavy chains

Refusing to see Him

Or hear His holy refrain

Invincible, He waits

For the moment of our arrival

Appearing at glory’s gate

Ready to be done with

All that blocks the light

Ready now to be

The Christ for all to see
