Workbook PART II

What am I?

^{For so long now I have considered Myself to be nothing but a ‘mortal’, something born but to die, part of some peculiar plan of God’s which makes no sense to Me. Yet have I gone along with it, participating endlessly in ‘birth’ and ‘death’ as if I were willing slave to ego.  Now I understand that I have a choice!}

^{I can stop the merry-go-round (which isn’t very merry!) and I can get off now. What took Me so long to understand this but being oh so willingly hypnotized by ego!}

 ¹ I am God’s Son in Reality, complete and healed and whole, shining in the reflection of His Love. I am Love’s Presence! That’s Reality! In me is His creation sanctified and guaranteed eternal life. In me is love perfected, fear impossible, and joy established without opposite. I hear these words, quite theoretically, and get excited; yet I don’t really understand; how this can be, possibly; for My mind is still run by the ego. I am the holy home of God Himself. I am the Heaven where His Love resides. What a wonderful idea, dearest Brother! I’ve always thought Heaven was a place for Me to go, not a place to BE! I am His holy sinlessness itself, for in my purity abides His own. This new idea is so amazing! No wonder I must watch every thought and action, for they must be in line with Love. For Love is the Substance of all Heaven: its superstructure.

 

² Our use for words is almost over now. The alternative is in the Knowing of Communion; no ceremony this but Our sharing of One Holy Mind. An experience of Oneness now unknown, deliberately long-forgotten in eons of dream. Yet in the final days of this one year we gave to God together, you and I, we found a single purpose that we shared, as You were willing. And thus you joined with me. So what I am are you as well. For when We’re joining, You step into One Mind with Me, ending the separation. The truth of what we are is not for words to speak of nor describe. It is just to be, which comes naturally; disallow the ego’s interference. Its survival rests on obfuscation! (a word quite synonym to ego when it is in action) Yet we can realize our function here, and words can speak of this and teach it, too, if we exemplify the words in us. In other words, live the Love Your preaching. Studying the Course does not make You holy. You must love It enough to live It.

 

³ We are the bringers of salvation. This is no small thing, but an important mission for the world, the world of Dreamers. We accept our part as saviors of the world, which through our joint forgiveness is redeemed. If the word forgiveness makes You cringe, for sin seems overwhelming, remember this: what You call ‘the world’ is nothing but a dream, albeit extremely convincing. God is greater than the dream, despite how very real it seems. And this, our gift, is therefore given us. We look on everyone as brothers and perceive all things as kindly and as good. Don’t be exasperated at what seems impossible to You! With God all these things are not just possible but certain! We do not seek a function that is past the gates of Heaven. Let Us arrive there first! And then You may be sure all things will be added for You. You need not be the star of the show to have a crucial part. Knowledge will return when we have done our part. We are concerned only with giving welcome to the truth. Open up Your minds; the Truth will gladly enter and bear fruit; Your mind be filled with happiness and good.

 

⁴ Ours are the eyes through which Christ’s vision sees a world redeemed from every thought of sin. Be willing Sister. Ours are the ears that hear the Voice of God proclaim the world as sinless. Be willing, Brother. Ours the minds which join together as we bless the world. How sweet is this experience of giving to Our Brothers. Our Gifts are not ambivalent, but wholly Good for They do come direct from God; no interference. And from the oneness that we have attained – as a part of God – we call to all our brothers, offering Our Love, asking them to share our peace and consummate our joy. Even those We thought were total strangers, and those of different colour, suddenly are as dear to Us as Our nursing babe. How did this happen? How was I transformed?

By Your Love, Sister; by Your Love, Brother! Love is the conduit for all miracles, both large and small. Let Yourselves be filled with Joy, Love spilling forth, overflowing, washing clean the world of painful judgments, illuminating Good where ere it goes!

⁵ We are the holy messengers of God – Yes! Really! Truly! – who speak for Him, and carrying His Word to everyone whom He has sent to us, we learn that it is written on our hearts. How did this happen? Only through willingness is this conceived. Willingness to both see and be different than ego. This is not a chore, but a privilege! And thus our minds are changed about the aim for which we came and which we seek to serve. We bring glad tidings to the Son of God, who thought he suffered. His days seemed filled with large and small crucifixions.  Now is he redeemed. And as he sees the gate of Heaven stand open before him, he will enter in and disappear into the Heart of God. The Real You won’t be gone; only the ego. And with the ego goes the dream. Yet You’ve already moved to Your new state of Consciousness: the Holy Love of God.
