What is a Miracle?

It is an unexpected healing of a chronic problem. And what is a “chronic problem”? One that has gone on for longer than an instant.

 

¹ A miracle is a correction of a misperception. It does not create nor really change at all. It merely looks on devastation, and reminds the mind that what it sees is false. It allows Reality’s appearing.  It undoes error, by Be-ing the Truth, but does not attempt to go beyond perception nor exceed the function of forgiveness. Thus it stays within time’s limits. In other words, it operates within the dream to heal it. Yet it paves the way for the return of timelessness and love’s awakening, for fear must slip away under the gentle remedy it gives. All the while it’s building back the bridge between Reality and unreality, which leads Dreamers to awaken and return their consciousness to the experience of Heaven.

 

² A miracle contains the gift of grace, for it is given and received as one. For God’s miracles are freely given. Will You receive them?  And thus it illustrates the law of truth the world does not obey because it fails entirely to understand its ways. And what is that law? Only Good is Real. Pay attention carefully to what I’m saying here about Your perception mode. A miracle inverts perception which was upside-down before, and thus it ends the strange distortions that were manifest. Now is perception open to the truth. Now is forgiveness seen as justified. Are You getting what I’m saying here? It’s as if You’ve gone through ‘life’ recently standing on Your head and wond’ring why You cannot seem to run a marathon again! Why don’t You stop thinking that You’re a body and, instead, remember that You’re Mind? Feel free to answer Me; the question is not rhetorical, but a wake-up call.

 

³ Forgiveness is the home of miracles. It understands the dream to be unreal, and therefore, there is nothing to forgive. The eyes of Christ deliver them to all they look upon in mercy and in love. And knowing this, We cannot but begin to Love Our Brothers. Perception stands corrected in His sight, becoming Vision, and what was meant to curse has come to bless. Truly does the Holy Spirit transform the worst of things into blessings for Us. Gratitude to God! Each lily of forgiveness offers all the world the silent miracle of love. Please let that sink deep into consciousness with great gratefulness. How great is Our God! And each is laid before the Word of God upon the universal altar to Creator and creation, in the light of perfect purity and endless joy.

There really is this thing called perfection.

 

⁴ The miracle is taken first on faith – there is at least a grain of faith (it matters not how miniscule it is) or miracles would be invisible to You – because to ask for it implies the mind has been made ready to conceive of what it cannot see and does not understand. Yes, You could say “a little willingness”. Yet faith will bring its witnesses to show that what it rested on is really there.  Now watch how Your willingness increases! And thus the miracle will justify your faith in it and show it rested on a world more real than what you saw before—a world redeemed from what you thought you saw. For miracles rest on Reality.

 

⁵ Miracles fall like drops of healing rain from Heaven on a dry and dusty world, where starved and thirsty creatures came to die. Yes, let Us add the Bibe verse that speaks so wonderfully to this idea: “I have longed for Thee as a dry and thirsty land where no water is.”Now they have water. Now the world is green. And everywhere the signs of life spring up to show that what is born will always be can never die, for what has life has immortality. This Course was given to bring an end to dying, which ends the dream; and vice versa.

Will You dream and die or choose instead to live by waking up? A simple question.
