I share God’s Will for happiness for me.

I had no idea happiness could come so easily, and that God really cares whether or not I’m happy. I didn’t know I was that important to Him! That’s just wonderful, to be loved so much! With God on My side, of course I’m happy.

¹ You do not want to suffer.

Who wants to be a victim? It’s not I!

You may think it buys you something and may still believe a little that it buys you what you want. 

Been there, done that. No more need to suffer. I prefer happy

Yet this belief is surely shaken now,

– yes, it surely is –

at least enough to let you question it and to suspect it really makes no sense.

You thought that God would more easily forgive Your ‘sins’ if You had suffered. Now that You know You haven’t sinned, there’s no point to suffering at all. So now You can let it go completely!

It has not gone as yet but lacks the roots that once secured it tightly to the dark and hidden secret places of your mind. 

You have seen how ridiculous it is. And now You’re ready to do without it. Sing hallelujah.

Those words I often say made You wonder if I like to sing? Yes! I surely do! As a boy I often sung while doing chores, and loved to sing the prayers in temple, especially the Shma.₁ Sometimes other kids would tease Me, and I just sung louder!

My constant communion with Our Father filled Me with joy, and I still feel it now! You understand it Sister, for You feel it just like I do. All Sisters, Brothers, God is available to every One who welcomes Him into their heart and mind. God Loves equally. Please come and sing hallelujah with Me. We’re All belovèd.

Good news! Isn’t it!

² Today we try to loose its weakened hold still further.

To just let it go forever. It comes not from God.

And to realize that pain is purposeless, without a cause, and with no power to accomplish anything.  It cannot purchase anything at all.  It offers nothing and does not exist.  And everything you think it offers you is lacking in existence like itself.

It seems to exist but in foolish dreams. Dreams are never real.

You have been slave to nothing.  Be you free today to join the happy Will of God. 

As the lyrics go: “Join Our happy throng!”₂

³ For several days we will continue to devote our longer practice periods to exercises planned to help you reach the happiness God’s Will has placed in you.  Here is your home,

 – for You live in Mind –

and here your safety is.

What harm can come to an idea? Only things are vulnerable at all.

Here is your peace, and here there is no fear. Here is salvation. Here is rest at last. 

A still, peaceful mind is purely healthy. For peace is happy.

⁴ Begin the longer practice periods today with this acceptance of God’s Will for you:

⁵ I share God’s Will for happiness for me,
And I accept it as my function now.

What a great, delightful thought: that We are here to be happy! Who could think of a greater function than happiness, except to be kind. So why not let both these qualities fill Your mind.

⁶ Then seek this function deep within your mind, for it is there, awaiting but your choice. You cannot fail to find it when you learn it is your choice and that you share God’s Will. 

When I’m happy, then, of course, I am just doin’ what comes naturally: being kind to all My Brothers.

⁷ Be happy, for your only function here is happiness.

Allowing happiness makes You want to Love All Your Others.

You have no need to be less loving to God’s Son than He Whose Love created him as loving as Himself.

As God is Love, so We be Love as well: like Father like Son.

Besides these hourly five minute rests, pause frequently today to tell yourself that you have now accepted happiness as your one function. And be sure that you are joining with God’s Will in doing this. 

What a gentle, holy, happy Function!
