LESSON SEVENTY SIX

Lesson 76

I am under no laws but God’s.

The ramifications of the Truth of this statement are so vast. Indeed Sister, and it is the Truth. This is how I spent those 40 days, needing neither food nor water.  I could have gone on forever.

We had just begun the Guidance on the Lessons when You went even longer. In pain and yet not in fear; albeit involuntarily and with My support.

God’s Law is but Life.  To die is but a part of erroneous group conclusions made deliberately.  Do not accept them.

¹ We have observed before how many senseless things have seemed to you to be salvation. All the false ‘gods’ that You made are but simple idol worship! These ‘gods’ are not just. Each has imprisoned you with laws as senseless as itself. You are not bound by them.  Right now You are free. Yet to understand that this is so, you must first realize salvation lies not there. While you would seek for it in things that have no meaning, you bind yourself to laws that make no sense. Thus do you seek to prove salvation is where it is not.  Think of all the many things You ‘worship; for You believe them, that they are needful.  Your Mother or Your Father or the doctor or Your teacher told You so. For their telling was quite deliberate; and You blindly believed it. You were expected to for those ‘rules’ perpetuate the dream.  You were not encouraged to ask questions.

This conditioning has worked in the favor of most parents and politicians and inept teachers, who all wish You to shut Your mouth and to do as You are bid.

² Today we will be glad you cannot prove it. For if you could, you would forever seek where it is not and never find it. The idea for today tells you once again how simple is salvation. Look for it where it waits for you, and there it will be found. Look nowhere else, for it is nowhere else.  God never ordained lack.  How could He, when He is the Source of all supply Himself. What You’re looking for is really only found in God, not man.

³ Think of the freedom in the recognition that you are not bound by all the strange and twisted laws which you have set up to save you. To understand this is the door to freedom. Go not back to older ways of thought. You really think that you would starve unless you have stacks of green paper strips and piles of metal discs. You really think a small round pellet or some fluid pushed into your veins through a sharpened needle will ward off death. You really think you are alone unless another body is with you.  Do You not see how very easily You are manipulated mentally?  Look at the different eras just Your own country has gone through. All of them quite pre-planned by the ego.

⁴ It is insanity that thinks these things. You call them laws, and put them under different names in a long catalog of rituals that have no use and serve no purpose. You think you must obey the “laws” of medicine, of economics, and of health. Protect the body, and you will be saved. You forget that You are not Your body, nor are You in it, and it depends on Your thinking, not on all those so-called ‘laws’.

⁵ These are not laws, but madness. Just insanity. Do You believe Me? The body is endangered by the mind that hurts itself. Mind is its master. The alcoholic gets cirrhosis because He cannot stop himself from drinking through the power of his will, so S/He then uses the body. Frustration with a situation You can’t seem to change brings on pain of migraine. Hurt or anger eating at You can bring Cancer or ulcer. You get the picture. The body suffers that the mind will fail to see it is the victim of itself. The body’s suffering is a mask the mind holds up to hide what really suffers. It would not understand it is its own enemy, that it attacks itself and wants to die. It is from this your “laws” would save the body. It is for this you think you are a body.  Again, the whole point is to perpetuate the dreaming. There is no other aim.

⁶ There are no laws except the laws of God. This statement is Your passport to freedom. This needs repeating over and over until you realize that it applies to everything that you have made in opposition to His Will. Your magic has no meaning. What it is meant to save does not exist. Only what it is meant to hide – God’s Reality – will save you.  My words here are truth.

⁷ The laws of God can never be replaced. We will devote today to rejoicing that this is so. It is no longer a truth which we would hide. We realize instead it is a truth which keeps us free forever. Forever free!  How wonderful that sounds; music to My ears! Magic imprisons, but the laws of God set free. The light has come because there are no laws but His.  Whose government is but on His shoulder.  Thus the necessity for allowing God to rule through asking help of Me or the Holy Spirit.  We ‘mediate’ – put into words – when You cannot hear God speak to You directly. See how You are Loved! Provision made for every One of Us as it was for Me, during the walk and the crucifixion.

⁸ We will begin the longer practice period today with a short review of the different kinds of “laws” we have believed we must obey. These would include, for example, the laws of nutrition, of immunization, of medication, and of the body’s protection in innumerable ways. Think further-you believe in the laws of friendship, of “good” relationships, and reciprocity.  Perhaps You had not realized how controlled You are – and not by ‘Others’ but by Your ego – whatever Your society may be.  Even if Your country seems to be ‘enlightened’ You still are not free.  You enslave Yourself with all Your beliefs.

⁹ Perhaps you even think that there are laws which set forth what is God’s and what is yours. Many “religions” have been based on this. They would not save, but damn in Heaven’s name. Yet they are no more strange than other “laws” you hold must be obeyed to make you safe.  The only laws there are are Omnipotent; for they are of God’s Nature: i.e. God is Love, God is Life, God makes You free, are some examples.

¹⁰ There are no laws but God’s. Understand this now, and You will be freed from all suffering. Dismiss all foolish magical beliefs today, and hold your mind in silent readiness to hear the Voice that speaks the truth to you. Notice that this instruction is two-fold.  I am not saying here to go back to the bar since liquor cannot hurt You. It is not the alcohol or drug or food that does You harm or that You ‘need’; it is the mindset behind all the addictions, which include power, failure, and success. And there are a myriad of others; You will know Your own. They do not matter, for I offer You the only way to freedom, happiness. You will be listening to One Who says there is no loss under the laws of God. Payment is neither given nor received. Exchange cannot be made, there are no substitutes, and nothing is replaced by something else. God’s laws forever give and never take.  And belovèd Ones, We all are the recipients of the largess of His Gifts.

¹¹ Hear Him Who tells you this, and realize how foolish are the laws you thought upheld the world you thought you saw. Then listen further. He will tell you more. About the Love your Father has for you. About the endless joy He offers you. About His yearning for His only Son, created as His channel for creation; denied to Him by his belief in hell.  Each One of Us is dearly Loved by God. We’re all included!

Would You not exchange Your hell for Heaven?

¹² Let us today open God’s channels to Him and let His Will extend through us to Him. This does happen very naturally when We don’t block it. The invitation of Your willingness is all that’s needed. Thus is creation endlessly increased. Good comes to each One exponentially! His Voice will speak of this to us, as well as of the joys of Heaven which His laws keep limitless forever. We will repeat today’s idea until we have listened and understood there are no laws but God’s. Then we will tell ourselves, as a dedication with which the practice period concludes:

¹³ I am under no laws but God’s.  What are those laws I taught You?  Love God with Your all, and Love Your neighbour as Yourself.  They’re very simple, as Truth always is.

¹⁴ We will repeat this dedication as often as possible today; at least four or five times an hour, as well as in response to any temptation to experience ourselves as subject to other laws throughout the day. It is our statement of freedom from all danger and all tyranny. It is our acknowledgment that God is our Father, and that His Son is saved.  And You are His Son, every One of You.
