LESSON FORTY ONE

God goes with me wherever I go.

Ah, yes, these words again, and My expansion of them: God goes as Me wherever I go. Where God is, I am, and where I am, God is also.

For there is no separation; not just between God and Me, but All there is as well. Separation is impossible to Reality.

¹ Today’s idea will eventually overcome completely the sense of loneliness and abandonment which all the separated ones experience. Separation is but an illusion; albeit painful, it still isn’t real. Depression is an inevitable consequence of separation. So are anxiety, worry, a deep sense of helplessness, misery, suffering, and intense fear of loss. The separated ones have invented many “cures” for what they believe to be the “ills of the world.” But the one thing they do not do is to question the reality of the problem. Yet its effects cannot be cured because the problem is not real. A real mind blower! We’ve mistaken dreams for Our reality when they are only childish games. So does that mean that We could give them up, right here and right now?

Yes. That’s what it means … if You are willing. All it takes is the “little willingness” that I ask of You. Will You give it Me?  The problem rests upon Your willingness – or lack of it – to heal or to be healed.

² The idea for today has the power to end all this foolishness forever. And foolishness it is, despite the serious and tragic forms it may take. Whatever upsets – or even horrors – claim Your attention. Deep within you is everything that is perfect, ready to radiate through you and out into the whole world.  For It’s the one Reality of You. It will cure all sorrow and pain and fear and loss because it will heal the mind that thought these things were real and suffered out of its allegiance to them. Would You not pledge allegiance to Life, Love, and Reality instead of errors? Choice is always Yours.

³ You can never be deprived of your perfect holiness, because its Source goes with you wherever you go. You’ll only truly understand this when You realize that God goes as You, for God and You are One. Therefore, this fact must mean that You are Good and that God is ever-present for You. You can never suffer, because the Source of all joy goes with you wherever you go. Again, realize that joy goes as You. Joy is what You are. You can never be alone, because the Source of all life goes with you wherever you go. This Source of Life is sourcing You right now! Nothing can destroy your peace of mind, because God goes with you wherever you go. God is forever moving as You, as every One of You, now and forever.

 

⁴ We understand that you do not believe all this. The ego won’t allow You,. In other words, it runs the show. As long as it is dominant, it’s boss. Why continue to allow it to run You, when now You know God is by Your side? An understatement.  God is Be-ing You right now and always. As You acknowledge and embrace that, You’ll see the ego being history, as God now seems to be. First, have faith in Truth. How could you, when the truth is hidden deep within under a heavy cloud of insane thoughts, dense and obscuring, yet representing all you see? It’s so amazing that this insanity has gone on for so many eons. Today we will make our first real attempt to get past this dark and heavy cloud and to go through it to the light beyond. I know some of You have had glimpses Light’s Reality. For what is Light, but God’s understanding, which is available to everyOne. Being given constantly, It but awaits Your reception.

⁵ There will be only one long practice period today. In the morning, as soon as you get up if possible, sit quietly for some three to five minutes with your eyes closed.  What better way is there to start Your day, than awaiting God? (The answer is none!) At the beginning of the practice period, repeat today’s idea very slowly. Then make no effort to think of anything. Try instead to get a sense of turning inward, past all the idle thoughts of the world. Try to enter very deeply into your own mind, keeping it clear of any thoughts that might divert your attention. Your Real Mind is still, like a pond at dawn. All the dreams are gone, and nothing has come yet to disturb it.

Await God with confidence, like a farmer who awaits the rising of the sun. His ever-Presence is just as reliable as the sun.

⁶ From time to time, you may repeat today’s idea if you find it helpful. But most of all, try to sink down and inward, away from the world and all the foolish thoughts of the world. They belong to dreams. You are trying to reach past all these things. You are trying to leave appearances and approach reality.  Right where One is, so, too, is the other.  You can always choose.

⁷ It is quite possible to reach God. For it is a journey without distance. You seek but Your Self. And that Self You seek is but One with God. In fact it is very easy because it is the most natural thing in the world. You might even say it is the only natural thing in the world. The way will open if you believe that it is possible. This exercise can bring very startling results even the first time it is attempted. And sooner or later, it is always successful. We will go into more detail in connection with this kind of practice as we go along. But it will never fail completely, and instant success is possible. Remember that God’s Love is universal and impartial. Who gets more Love than You? No-One, for All of Us  are equal.

⁸ Throughout the day, use today’s idea often, repeating it very slowly and preferably with eyes closed. Think of what you are saying; what the words mean. Concentrate on the holiness which they imply about you; on the unfailing companionship which is yours; on the complete protection that surrounds you. You are so very loved and very safe.

⁹ You can indeed afford to laugh at fear thoughts, remembering that God goes with you wherever you go.

Awake or asleep, You are so eternally companioned.
