LESSON THIRTY SEVEN

My holiness blesses the world.

Do You mean the way I am and what I do is crucial not just to God but to every One as well? Is that really true?  And each One of Us is so important? For We are holy.

And thus to learn the living of Our Holiness is the reason for these Lessons.  Each of Us is here to bless each Other.

¹ This idea contains the first glimmerings of your true function in the world or why you are here. Other than self-will. That self-will – another name for ego – put You here, and God gave You, instead, a function to mean it unto good.  Will You accept it gladly? You won’t regret it. Happiness is the only consequence of Your acceptance. Your purpose is to see the world through your own holiness. Bring the blessings of Your own perspective. Thus are you and the world blessed together. No one loses; nothing is taken away from anyone; everyone gains through your holy vision. It signifies the end of sacrifice because it offers everyone his full due. And he is entitled to everything because it is his birthright as a Son of God. “He” means He and She, for the Son of God is genderless. God Be-ing the only Source of All Creation’s Revelation, there can be no need for procreation.

None of Us were ever ‘born’, nor will We ever ‘die’; those are Dreamer inventions.  They do not belong to Reality.

² There is no other way in which the idea of sacrifice can be removed from the world’s thinking. Any other way of seeing will inevitably demand payment of someone or something. As a result, the perceiver will lose. This is why most theology dwells on the crucifixion, not the resurrection. Nor will he have any idea why he is losing. Yet is his wholeness restored to his awareness through your vision. The risen Christ is not a martyr; thus, no-one is guilty. Your holiness blesses him by asking nothing of him. Those who see themselves as whole make no demands.  Being quite complete, they are not needy.

³ Your holiness is the salvation of the world. You see Your Brother whole and holy simply because You are. You are Your vision. It’s very simple! It lets you teach the world that it is one with you, not by preaching to it, not by telling it anything, but merely by your quiet recognition that in your holiness are all things blessed, along with you.    For what You think You are must be Your Reality as well, for Good or evil. And since We are holy, it comes easy to Us to choose Good.  So just be willing, and You need not listen to the ego.

⁴ Today’s four longer exercise periods, each to involve three to five minutes of practice, begin with the repetition of the idea for today followed by a minute or so of looking about you as you apply the idea to whatever you see:

⁵ My holiness blesses this chair.
My holiness blesses that window.
My holiness blesses this body.

For Holiness is quite a different mindset from anger or discouragement.  They cannot change Your Holiness; just Your experience of it.

⁶ Then close your eyes and apply the idea to any person who occurs to you, using his name and saying:

⁷ My holiness blesses you, [name].  Would You not give this gift to an Other?  For S/He does need it. The more Love You give, the more Love You have.

Could there be a better occupation than Love-giving?  It is, quite simply, forgiving in advance. Indeed, like the lyrics: “No matter what You say or do, I just go on loving You.” That’s Love in action!  Unchanging Love.

⁸ You may continue the practice period with your eyes closed; you may open your eyes again and apply the idea for today to your outer world if you so desire; you may alternate between applying it to what you see around you and to those who are in your thoughts; or you may use any combination of these two phases of application which you prefer. The practice period should conclude with a repetition of the idea made with your eyes closed and another following immediately with your eyes open. This covers within as well as without; they are the same; all is Mind not body. Consciousness is the sole Source of Vision.  There is no other.  It’s the ego which has split Awareness into body parts.  God knows naught of it. Therefore, how could You?

⁹ The shorter exercises consist of repeating the idea as often as you can. It is particularly helpful to apply it silently to anyone you meet, using his name as you do so. It is essential to use the idea if anyone seems to cause an adverse reaction in you. Offer him the blessing of your holiness immediately that you may learn to keep it in your own awareness.

Is not this far superior to aggravation, which merely is justifying for Your lack of Love for an Other.
