LESSON THIRTY TWO
TRANSCRIBER’S NOTE: The Course text is in bold face. The Guidance is in normal type In His Guidance, He has asked Me to capitalize the pronouns You and We as an acknowledgement of the Divinity of All of Us, an acknowledgement of Equality, an expression of His Love and respect for You. When You see the word ‘YOU’ capitalized in the Guidance, know that He is not just speaking to YOU, He is honoring YOU.
Workbook PART I
L e s s o n 32
I have invented the world I see.
There are few ways to deal with this disturbing thought, which questions both Reality and Your Sanity. The first is to ignore it; the second is dismiss it; and the third is to have curiosity. Only curiosity brings healing.
1 Today we are continuing to develop the theme of cause and effect. You’re the cause, and what You seem to see ‘out there’ is the effect. You are not the victim of the world you see because you invented it. You can give it up as easily as you made it up. What am I saying? I must be kidding! The ego refuses to accept this, for it has been forever a ‘victim’. Even egregious aggressors see themselves as victims of the world out there that’s doing it to them. The serial killer always sees himself as a victim. You will see it – comprehend this radical idea – or not see it, as you wish. While you want it, you will see it; when you no longer want it, it will not be there for you to see. Okay Brother, how do I not want it?
Good question! Allow Your curiosity and Your desire for Reality to take precedent over dreaming. I repeat Myself quite deliberately: start with curiosity and child-like wondering: What if? “You must become as a young child”1 – before beliefs took over.
2 The idea for today, like the preceding ones, applies to your inner and outer worlds, which are actually the same. – Your thoughts outpictured. – However, since you see them as different, the practice periods for today will again include two phases, one involving the world you see outside you and the other the world you see in your mind. In today’s exercises, try to introduce the thought that both are in your own imagination. Do not be surprised if this Truth discomforts You, for You’ve spent eons hiding it.
3 Again we will begin the practice periods for the morning and evening by repeating the idea for today two or three times while looking around at the world you see as outside yourself. Then close your eyes and look around your inner world. Try to treat them both as equally as possible. Repeat the idea for today unhurriedly as often as you wish as you watch the images your imagination presents to your awareness. Imagination is a parody of Reality.
4 For the two longer practice periods, three to five minutes are recommended, with not less than three required. More than five can be utilized if you find the exercises restful. To facilitate this, select a time when few distractions are anticipated and when you yourself feel reasonably ready. In other words, somewhat open-minded.
5 These exercises are also to be continued during the day as often as possible. The shorter applications consist of repeating the idea slowly as you survey either your inner or outer world. It does not matter which you choose. They’re not separate.
6 The idea for today should also be applied immediately to any situation which may distress you. Apply the idea by telling yourself:
7 I have invented this situation as I see it. This realization is Your way to freedom.
Will You accept it, or will You respond: “It’s My story, and I’m sticking with it!”2 Which one will You choose?

1Matthew 18:3
Translation is from the Lexham English Bible
“Truly I say to you, unless you turn around and become like young children, you will never enter into the kingdom of heaven!”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTsU_xoNyMY Nothing sings the idea like Oscar Brown Jr.’s song Dat Dere. This is from his original album.
At the same time, it shows how the Dreamer definitions are passed on generation to generation, often with less change than a game of Telephone, for they have been set in stone, and the dream depends upon them. End the definitions, and You end the dream.
2 From an old ‘joke’ about a philandering husband who comes home at 5 a.m. and decides to sleep outside in the hammock so his wife won’t hear him.
The next morning he comes in and tells her that he got home about midnight, and lay down in the hammock for a few minutes to admire the stars and moon and fell asleep until just then. She then informs him that she was out at 1 a.m. looking for him. He looks her in the eyes and says: “That’s my story and I’m sticking with it.” So too are Dreamers adulterating their experience; their backs turned on God.
