When You see the word ‘YOU’ capitalized in the Guidance, know that He is not just speaking to YOU, He is honoring YOU.

What is the Real World?

¹ The real world is a symbol like the rest of what perception offers.  

For God must work with what You are able to experience. Yet it stands for what is opposite to what you made. And so it will work to heal Your thinking. Your world is seen through eyes of fear and brings the witnesses of terror to your mind. There are so many, and so convincing that You do need help to gain Your freedom. The real world cannot be perceived except through eyes forgiveness blesses, so they see a world where terror is impossible and witnesses to fear can not be found. Yet must it be appreciable to You, and the lesson learned.

 

² The real world holds a counterpart for each unhappy thought reflected in your world, – for misery is a thought, not a thing – a sure correction for the sights of fear and sounds of battle which your world contains. Sights and sounds which seem to exacerbate every minute. Yet God is with You, gifting You healing through the real world! The real world shows a world seen differently, through quiet eyes and with a mind at peace. Nothing but rest is there. For rest and peace are the opposite of the frenetic world. There are no cries of pain and sorrow heard, for nothing here remains outside forgiveness. Forgiveness heals all. And the sights are gentle. For gentle always is the touch of God. Only happy sights and sounds can reach the mind that has forgiven itself. In forgiving Your Brothers for their ‘sins’, Yours are gone with theirs; none of them were real.

 

³ What need has such a mind for thoughts of death, attack, and murder? They are purposeless, being totally unknown to God, and, thus, unknown to You. What can it perceive surrounding it but safety, love, and joy? How wonderful peace feels after such long eons of turmoil. What is there it would choose to be condemned, and what is there that it would judge against? It sees but Good, for only Good is Real. The world it sees arises from a mind at peace within itself. To feel this peace after nightmare eons is just amazing! No danger lurks in anything it sees, for it is kind and only kindness does it look upon. For the mind can only see its own state.

 

⁴ The real world is the symbol that the dream of sin and guilt is over and God’s Son no longer sleeps. For the Real World can begin to be seen as the Son wills to give up His grudges. His waking eyes perceive the sure reflection of his Father’s Love, shining through His own, the certain promise that he is redeemed. The real world signifies the end of time, for its perception makes time purposeless. All that is seen in the Real World is Now, which makes It an Eternity of God’s most Holy Instants.

 

⁵ The Holy Spirit has no need of time when it has served His purpose. Now He waits but that one instant more for God to take His final step, and time has disappeared, taking perception with it as it goes and leaving but the Truth to be Itself. Are You getting a glimpse of what it’s like to be only Now with perfect focus? That instant – purely focused Now – is our goal, for it contains the memory of God. And as we look upon a world forgiven, it is He Who calls to us and comes to take us home, reminding us of our Identity which our forgiveness – willingness to  Love – has restored to us. What a grateful thing to be Awakened. It’s purely Heaven.
