LESSON ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-TWO

L e s s o n  122

Forgiveness offers everything I want.

It gives Me freedom from resentment and from rumination.  A pair of behaviors guaranteed to make Me both ill and, as well as ill, also unhappy. Forgiveness gently does dissipate both miserable states of mind.

Read below Dr. Jesus’ prescription for the best of health and happiness. Freely I did receive this understanding from Our Holy Father-Mother, just as freely have I given it for two thousand years and more.

It is freely given; let it be just as freely received.

¹ What could you want forgiveness cannot give? Do you want peace? Forgiveness offers it. Do you want happiness, a quiet mind, a certainty of purpose, and a sense of worth and beauty that transcends the world? Do you want care and safety and the warmth of sure protection always? Do you want a quietness that cannot be disturbed, a gentleness that never can be hurt, a deep, abiding comfort, and a rest so perfect it can never be upset?

² All this forgiveness offers you, and more. It sparkles in your eyes as you awake and gives you joy with which to meet the day. It soothes your forehead while you sleep and rests upon your eyelids so you see no dreams of fear and evil, malice, and attack. And when you wake again, it offers you another day of happiness and peace. All this forgiveness offers you, and more. 

How beautiful this list. The root meaning of forgiveness – the state of Be-ing here for giving, is Parent to You All, for God is but Be-ing/giving every One of Us – all of His Ideas – All of Us, to each Other.  Can You understand?  We are here to Love and Gift each Other! For every One of Us comes straight from God.

Don’t worry if this seems confusing. You will understand it.  And in understanding, You will be gratefully rejoicing!

This is My promise and My gift to You. Will You accept them?  For they will free You from the idle dream which became this oh so ancient nightmare that buried Christ – the Christ that You are – and still remains today.

I long ago remembered, and sought to wake from dreams My so long sleeping Brothers.

³ Forgiveness lets the veil be lifted up which hides the face of Christ from those who look with unforgiving eyes upon the world.

Do You see the sweet face of Christ when You look in the mirror?  Or do You, perchance, see His ‘enemy’ the hostile ego? Forgiveness shows Christ in the mirror as well as everywhere!

It lets you recognize the Son of God and clears your memory of all dead thoughts so that remembrance of your Father can arise across the threshold of your mind.

Of His tender Love for You and how You Love Him in return.

All You need do is forgive Yourself and forgive Your Brothers. No mountains to climb – except resentment – no castle walls to scale. You need but rise above self-righteousness – accept and give forgiveness to Yourself and Your Others.

⁴ What would you want forgiveness cannot give?

It sets You really right; not just fake ‘right’ because Your Brother has now been made wrong. Oh dear Sister, God, and I, and the Holy Spirit have so much Love for You and for all Our Brothers. Every single Other is important; a priceless gift to every One of Us.

What gifts but these are worthy to be sought? What fancied value, trivial effect, or transient promise never to be kept can hold more hope than what forgiveness brings?

Shut up the ego, and You’ll gladly hear Love speaking to You. Her Voice more gentle and more tender than the best of mothers. Love sees perfection everywhere It looks.

Why would you seek an answer other than the answer that will answer everything? Here is the perfect answer, given to imperfect questions, meaningless requests, half-hearted willingness to hear, and less than halfway diligence and partial trust.

Would You not let treasures replace garbage? Do I offend You? What pleasure is there in bitter, sour grapes of the ego? Your royal heritage is Love. Come, take My hand, accept It.

⁵ Here is the answer! Seek for it no more. You will not find another one instead.

What could be better? Would You choose bitter thoughts instead of Love when Happiness holds out Her hands to You?

God’s plan for your salvation cannot change, nor can it fail. Be thankful it remains exactly as He planned it. Changelessly it stands before you like an open door with warmth and welcome calling from beyond the doorway, bidding you to enter in and make yourself at home where you belong.

Would You be right, or would You be happy? Anger brings with it only misery.  Leave it behind and come back into the Consciousness of Love.

⁶ Here is the answer!

Sing hallelujah, and praise God with Me, Your Elder Brother!

Would you stand outside while all of Heaven waits for you within?

You stepped outside of Love when You long ago began to dream.

Forgive and be forgiven. As you give, you will receive. There is no plan but this for the salvation of the Son of God. Let us today rejoice that this is so, for here we have an answer, clear and plain, beyond deceit in its simplicity. All the complexities the world has spun of fragile cobwebs disappear before the power and the majesty of this extremely simple statement of the truth.

God is simply Good, and You are His Son, His belovèd One.

⁷ Here is the answer! Do not turn away in aimless wandering again. Accept salvation now.

What do You wait for? Still another opportunity to hold some resentment? How insane is that? The world thinks that way. You’re being given Heaven’s Sanity! Will You accept it?

It is the gift of God and not the world. The world can give no gifts of any value to a mind which has received what God has given as its own.

For it is happy.

God wills salvation be received today and that the intricacies of your dreams no longer hide their nothingness from you. 

Dreams offer only vacant promises. Please come wake to Reality with Me, Your faithful Brother.

⁸ Open your eyes today, and look upon a happy world of safety and of peace.

It is here awaiting Your Awakening to feel Its peace.

Forgiveness is the means by which it comes to take the place of hell. In quietness it rises up to greet your open eyes and fill your heart with deep tranquility as ancient truths, forever newly born, arise in your awareness.

Do You know that Truth is always happy?

What you will remember then can never be described. Yet your forgiveness offers it to you.

What a Gift this is. Far beyond anything the world gives You.

⁹ Remembering the gifts forgiveness gives, we undertake our practicing today with hope and faith that this will be the day salvation will be ours.

Today is perfect!

Earnestly and gladly will we seek for it today, aware we hold the key within our hands, accepting Heaven’s answer to the hell we made, but where we would remain no more.

There’s no penalty, no sentence that You need to serve! You’re being given freedom!

¹⁰ Morning and evening do we gladly give a quarter of an hour to the search in which the end of hell is guaranteed. Begin in hopefulness, for we have reached the turning point at which the road becomes far easier. And now the way is short that yet we travel. We are close indeed to the appointed ending of the dream.

Stop not at the doorway; don’t be afraid to enter for only Good awaits You.

¹¹ Sink into happiness

– lean back, feel its loving support of You –

as you begin these practice periods, for they hold out the sure rewards of questions answered, and what your acceptance of the answer brings. Today it will be given you to feel the peace forgiveness offers and the joy the lifting of the veil holds out to you.

Relax into peace. There is no tension to this forgiveness.

¹² Before the light you will receive today the world will fade until it disappears, and you will see another world arise you have no words to picture.

Yes, You All will feel the peace and happiness that You* feel this moment, despite the turmoil that is going on around You.

Now we walk directly into light, and we receive the gifts which have been held in store for us since time began, kept waiting for today. Forgiveness offers everything you want. Today all things you want are given you.

Will You accept them? They have always been at hand, available to You, and now You know it. Reach out. They’re waiting for You.

¹³ Let not your gifts recede throughout the day,

– keep them close by You, safely in Your mind where all things happen –

as you return again to meet a world of shifting change and bleak appearances. Retain your gifts in clear awareness as you see the changeless in the heart of change, the light of truth behind appearances. Be tempted not to let your gifts slip by and drift into forgetfulness but hold them firmly in your mind by your attempts to think of them at least a minute as each quarter of an hour passes by. 

Hold fast faithfully to Reality. It is forever present here for You.

¹⁴ Remind yourself how precious are these gifts with this reminder, which has power to hold your gifts in your awareness through the day:

¹⁵ Forgiveness offers everything I want.  Forgiveness gifts You with Reality.
Today I have accepted this as true.
Today I have received the gifts of God.

And I’m grateful for an Eternity of Reality!
