LESSON TWO HUNDRED-NINETY FOUR

Workbook PART II

L e s s o n  294

My body is a wholly neutral thing.

Responding obediently to each command “I” give it.  It’s  got no mind of its own, and thus depends totally upon the demands that I choose to give it.  It acts not independently of Me, for it is mindless.

Do not confuse brain with mind, for it, too, is at the beck and call of mind, which can’t be found in the body; but rather is the body found to be made up in it.  For mind is the author of the body, and not vice versa.

This is why I say No-One ‘dies’ without giving their consent, their command to go.

¹ I am a Son of God. And can I be another thing as well?  Could really I be a human being?  A human being what but clearly an impostor. Something that thinks it was ‘born’ and will surely ‘die’ even though God is Eternal?  Such bizarre ideas. Did God create the mortal and corruptible?  What strange ideas!  God the very Perfect and Eternal.  What use has God’s beloved Son for what must die? Surely it’s a lie, for You are as Immortal as Your Source.  True interpretation of Your body is identity, and its true Substance is but idea. And yet a neutral thing does not see death, – ideas cannot die – for thoughts of fear are not invested there, nor is a mockery of love bestowed upon it. Its purpose in the dream is truly not the same as Yours is. Its neutrality protects it while it has a use. It does not accept Your purpose as guarantor of dying, for it is You alone that gives it ‘life’ and You who takes it. And yet, not really. And afterwards, without a purpose, it is laid aside. It is not sick or old or hurt. Nor is it a ‘thing’ that’s actual; just imagination, for the Real You is Spirit, even now, if You’re willing. It is but functionless, unneeded and cast off.  I will add that it is You who gives it the function of arbiter of pleasure.  That’s not its purpose. Let me not see it more than this today-of service for a while and fit to serve, to keep its usefulness while it can serve, and then to be replaced for greater good.

Do not fear that You will disappear without it.  Far from it!  For You will once again have the pleasure of the Real You.

² My body, Father, cannot be Your Son. For nor can You be a body, since God is Spirit; (which is Consciousness) and “Like Father, like Son!” as the old saying goes. And what is not created cannot be sinful or sinless, neither good nor bad.  Since matter-bodies aren’t really fun, You invented libation and ingestion, gormandizing, fornication, even defecation to enjoy Your Creation. Yet throughout the eons, none of this activity did make it reality. What isn’t simply isn’t; and yet there is Something there right where You are: It’s Holy Spirit. Let me, then, use this dream to help Your plan that we awaken from all dreams we made.  Awaken joyful!

What is the Real World?

 

The Real World is how You see Reality with God while looking through the veil – in other words, the mental state – of ego.  You’re in the dream, yet wanting to waken.

¹ The real world is a symbol like the rest of what perception offers.  With eyes that see through ego thought, nothing You think You see is real, distorted by Your mindset; albeit Reality. Yet it stands for what is opposite to what you made.  All is not lost, but still available to the willing mind, a mind that would gladly drop fear for Love. Your world is seen through eyes of fear and brings the witnesses of terror to your mind.  To read the news is absolutely overwhelming to the unforgiving mind. The real world cannot be perceived except through eyes forgiveness blesses, so they see a world where terror is impossible and witnesses to fear can not be found.  What is this “forgiveness” that I am always recommending?  It is the mind that will gladly give, instead of focusing on always getting. In this world, forgiveness is a gift that You receive as well, by giving Love and grace to Your Brothers.  It’s Heaven’s Presence in the midst of hell.

² The real world holds a counterpart  – Truth replacing lies – for each unhappy thought reflected in your world, a sure correction for the sights of fear and sounds of battle which your world contains.  For the ego is quite sure it always has to be at war to protect its self.  That’s because it survives by attacking. Let Us contemplate a different picture: The real world shows a world seen differently, through quiet eyes and with a mind at peace. I hear Your unspoken question: How can You ever learn to see and think like this? Be willing to join with Me, with God, or with Holy Spirit. Joining brings You peace. Nothing but rest is there. There are no cries of pain and sorrow heard, for nothing here remains outside forgiveness. And the sights are gentle. Only happy sights and sounds can reach the mind that has forgiven itself.  You just need but surrender the ego mindset for the mind of Christ, which I will gladly share with You, share with All of You.

³ What need has such a mind for thoughts of death, attack, and murder?  Of what use are they but to the ego. They are but nightmares. The mind longing for Reality leaves dreams behind, both pleasant and unpleasant. Blessèd is that mind. What can it perceive surrounding it but safety, love, and joy? What is there it would choose to be condemned, and what is there that it would judge against? The world it sees arises from a mind at peace within itself.  You understand the world is not ‘out there’ for it exists as part of consciousness. No danger lurks in anything it sees, – this new mind of Yours – for it is kind and only kindness does it look upon.

⁴ The real world is the symbol that the dream of sin and guilt is over and God’s Son no longer sleeps.  He does not even want the happy dream, but longs instead for God’s Reality. His waking eyes perceive the sure reflection of his Father’s Love, the certain promise that he is redeemed.  Love full happiness floods His consciousness. The real world signifies the end of time, for its perception makes time purposeless.  No beginnings and no endings for the Real is forever.

⁵ The Holy Spirit has no need of time when it has served His purpose.  Spirit knows no limits for It is everywhere and always.. Now He waits but that one instant more for God to take His final step, and time has disappeared, taking perception with it as it goes and leaving but the Truth to be Itself.  All that’s left to evaporate is any sense of separation, for with the memory of God restored comes experience of Oneness. That instant is our goal, for it contains the memory of God. And as we look upon a world forgiven, it is He Who calls to us and comes to take us home, reminding us of our Identity which our forgiveness has restored to us.  And then, indeed, with joy, We know God is.
