My mind holds only what I think with God.

Thoughts of the ego are but passing phantasmagoria.  This word does beautifully describe the ego.  A big show, but no heart, no substance.

 

[135] If I defend myself, I am attacked.  If You are in defensive mode, then must You see attack to justify Yourself.

When You’re a victim, there must be an aggressor.  Thus You cleverly avoid responsibility.

‘Well!’ You say, ‘What if I am attacked?  Can’t I defend myself?’  Of course, You can; just let Love be Your Guide. To be in a space to do this, it helps to let Love always Guide You, in every instant and in every situation.

Learn first to pause – don’t shoot from the hip – and in Your pause, then step back to defer to the Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit’s ‘defense’ cannot help but to spring from Love.  Love will bless both You and Your attacker.

[136] Sickness is a defense against the truth.  What is Truth but God. Sickness asserts that God isn’t just, is unreliable in caring for You.  You are, somehow, His victim.  How irresponsible He is to let this happen to You – or even worse, to afflict You!

When You make Yourself sick, it seems God is, at best, capricious.  He’s not on the job in caring for You.  If He were, You would not be sick at all.  Thus You avoid responsibility for Your own problems.

Sickness – along with sin and death – is an ego invention.  You won’t find them anywhere in Heaven.  Spirit is perfect.  And It is Your only Reality.

Your perfection awaits Your acceptance.
