LESSON EIGHTY-SEVEN

The Guidance is in normal type In His Guidance, He has asked Me to capitalize the pronouns You and We as an acknowledgement of the Divinity of All of Us, an acknowledgement of Equality, an expression of His Love and respect for You. When You see the word ‘YOU’ capitalized in the Guidance, know that He is not just speaking to YOU, He is honoring YOU.

REVIEW II

¹ We are now ready for another review. We will begin where our last review left off and cover two ideas each day. The earlier part of each day will be devoted to one of these ideas, and the latter part of the day to the other. We will have one longer exercise period and frequent shorter ones in which we practice each of them.

² The longer practice periods will follow this general form: take about 15 minutes for each of them, and begin by thinking about the idea and the comments which are included in the assignments. Devote about three or four minutes to reading them over slowly, several times if you wish, and then close your eyes and listen.

While the ideas – of themselves – are quite important, the crucial part is the Listening, Our Communion.

Repeat the first phase if you find your mind wandering, but try to spend the major part of the practice period listening quietly but attentively.

³ There is a message waiting for you. Be confident that you will receive it. Remember that it belongs to you and that you want it. Do not allow your intent to waver in the face of distracting thoughts. – The ego mindset is quite good at distraction. – Realize that, whatever form they take, they have no meaning and no power. – Each and every thought coming from the ego mindset is meaningless, for it comes from belief in a ‘reality’ that is non-existent. – Replace them with your determination to succeed. Do not forget that your will has power over all fantasies and dreams. – The choice is always Yours.  Choose once again until Your choice is always God and Love. – Trust it to see you through and carry you beyond them all.

⁴ Regard these practice periods as dedications to the way, the truth, and the life. Refuse to be side-tracked into detours, illusions, and thoughts of death. You are dedicated to salvation. Be determined each day not to leave your function unfulfilled.

What else could You be doing that is as important as this is?  No other endeavor has worth even close to this one.

⁵ Reaffirm your determination in the shorter practice periods as well, using the original form of the idea for general application and a more specific form when needed. Some specific forms will be included in the comments. These, however, are merely suggestions. It is not the particular words you use that matter.

It is Your heart’s desire and Your diligence that matter.  Desire is prayer.

¹ Our review today will cover these ideas:

And continue improving Your idea and Your use of will, till they are in alignment with the Father-Mother and the Holy Spirit.

[73] I will there be light.  What are You wishing for here, but Spirit’s understanding Love for All Your Others.

² I will use the power of my will today.  Not for self-aggrandizement but to gently bless My Others. It is not my will to grope about in darkness, fearful of shadows and afraid of things unseen and unreal.  Also known as the ‘human condition’. Light shall be my guide today.  I already feel Its beneficence blessing Me and Every One that I see. I will follow it where it leads me, and I will look only on what it shows me.  Let Spirit’s understanding be My Guide to how I’m seeing; not just for today, but eternally.  How good that does feel, walking in God’s way. This day I will experience the peace of true perception.  Because I choose for Love instead of hate.

³ These forms of this idea would be helpful for specific application:

⁴ This cannot hide the light I will to see.  Right where You are [to the One Who challenges Your patience] is Light so lovely – so unique to You – that I long to see It.  When I do, then will I really know You.
You stand with me in light, [name].  We stand together, You and I, as God’s illumination.  How lovely to see are We, You and Me.
In the light this will look different.  It has already!  Our Holiness is now so obvious!

[74] There is no will but God’s.  Therefore, must My will be as One with His.  How harmonious is such a feeling!

⁵ I am safe today because there is no will but God’s. I can become afraid only when I believe that there is another will.  In other words, the pretense that I could have a will apart from God’s that might be thwarted!  That is a grand impossibility!  I try to attack only when I am afraid, and only when I try to attack can I believe that my eternal safety is threatened. Today I will recognize that all this has not occurred. I’ve simply been having some aggressive dreams. I am safe because there is no will but God’s.  And always is His Will for You benign.

⁶ These are some useful forms of this idea for specific applications:

⁷ Let me perceive this in accordance with the Will of God. God’s Will is that We Love One Another.
It is God’s Will you are His Son, [name], and mine as well, to see You this way: belovèd One; belovèd Son of God.
This is part of God’s Will for me, however I may see it.  So I can see an error – have My grievances – if I wish to try to box with God.  My arms too short to box with Him, My understanding is just way too miniscule for Me to even argue with Him!
