LESSON SEVENTY-FIVE

TRANSCRIBER’S NOTE: The Course text is in bold face. The Guidance is in normal type In His Guidance, He has asked Me to capitalize the pronouns You and We as an acknowledgement of the Divinity of All of Us, an acknowledgement of Equality, an expression of His Love and respect for You. When You see the word ‘YOU’ capitalized in the Guidance, know that He is not just speaking to YOU, He is honoring YOU.

The light has come.

You know it’s always been here.  You just forgot how to see it.  And now You are remembering to look.  For it stands unseen to blinded eyes that will not to see it.  Now that You want to, You need a Partner who loves His Divinity to show You.

1 The light has come. You are healed and you can heal. What is the Light but understanding Your relationship with God: What God is and What You really are. This is beyond words.  It is completely experiential. The light has come. It never really went away; You’ve only seemed to densify it with separate, selfish thinking. You are saved, and you can save. What is ‘saving’ but to assist Your Brothers to remember They are Light as well. The Light of Your Love will stir their memory of Truth for them. You are at peace, and you bring peace with you wherever you go. Peace is not blissed out unconsciousness, but an active Living Presence moving through the world and healing darkened minds as the gentle Light it is. It’s gentle, yet it is omnipotent: Power absolute. Darkness and turmoil and death have disappeared. Where do the shadows go, when the Light has risen?  Nowhere; they never really were. The light has come.  You see again Its glory shining everywhere, Every One.

It is the Substance of All Things, for It is the Visibility of Love.  And it is not just visible, but feelable and fragrant, audible, delicious.  Words are insufficient to describe such an Experience.

2 Today we celebrate the happy ending to your long dream of disaster. (an understatement!) There are no dark dreams now. The light has come. Today the time of light begins for you and everyone. It is a new era in which a new world is born. The old one has left no trace upon it in its passing. Today we see a different world because the light has come.  You can – right here, right now – understand that God is really Love.  And only Good can ever come to You.

God has only Good for Us, and God is the only Giver.

3 Our exercises for today will be happy ones in which we offer thanks for the passing of the old – will to let it go – and the beginning of the new. For Good is ever-present, hidden but by foolish dreaming. Now can We choose to stop the past, and simply to discard it. No shadows from the past remain to darken our sight and hide the world forgiveness offers us. Today we will accept the new world as what we want to see. We will be given what we desire. We will to see the light; the light has come.  Comes to Our awareness, for – of course, – It never left.  We were just blocking It to play a bizarre game, one that hasn’t really been any fun.

4 Our longer practice periods will be devoted to looking at the world which our forgiveness shows us. This is what we want to see, and only this. Our single purpose makes our goal inevitable. Today the real world rises before us in gladness, to be seen at last. Sight is given us, now that the light has come.  I don’t see any differently You say.  Well, how was Your run this morning?  Did You not have fun?  Feel joy?

Yes, that’s very true.  Imagine feeling like that – and so much more – every Holy Instant.  That is the beginning of Awakening.  It is a different way of looking and of seeing.

In the dream a grain of sand is small and inconsequential.  Awake it goes far beyond what the poet said.  It is Home to Eternity.1

5 We do not see the ego’s shadow on the world today. We ask for Vision, and We receive It. We see the light, and in it we see Heaven’s reflection lie across the world.  Bathing it with Light. Begin the longer practice periods by telling yourself the glad tidings of your release:

6 The light has come. I have forgiven the world.

I’m now here for giving, not for getting.

7 Dwell not upon the past today. Keep a completely open mind, washed of all past ideas and clean of every concept you have made. You have forgiven the world today. You can look upon it now as if you never saw it before. You do not know yet what it looks like. You merely wait to have it shown to you. While you wait, repeat several times slowly and in complete patience:

8 The light has come. I have forgiven the world.

9 Realize that your forgiveness entitles you to vision. Understand that the Holy Spirit never fails to give the gift of sight to the forgiving. Believe He will not fail you now.  I lift You up above the raging sea the world seems to be. You have forgiven the world. He will be with you as you watch and wait. He will show you what true vision sees. It is His Will, and you have joined with Him. Wait patiently for Him. He will be there. The light has come. You have forgiven the world.  And You also have forgiven Yourself for the world as well.  None of You knew the impending pain of what You were doing.

10 Tell Him you know you cannot fail because you trust in Him. Tell yourself you wait in certainty to look upon the world He promised you. From this time forth you will see differently. All it takes is that “little willingness” that I ask of Thee. (Yes, I’m fond of the King James translation!)2 Today the light has come. And you will see the world that has been promised you since time began, and in which is the end of time ensured.  The “end of time” is but the resumption of Reality!

11 The shorter practice periods, too, will be joyful reminders of your release. Remind yourself every quarter of an hour or so that today is a time for special celebration. For every instance of unselfed Love is perfectly Holy.Give thanks for mercy and the Love of God.  Rejoice in the power of forgiveness to heal your sight completely. Be confident that on this day there is a new beginning. Without the darkness of the past upon your eyes, you cannot fail to see today. And what you see will be so welcome that you will gladly extend today forever. Say, then:

12 The light has come. I have forgiven the world. Which is often easier than forgiveness to a Person. Yet will I listen for what Love tells Me.

13 Should you be tempted, say to anyone who seems to pull you back to darkness:

14 The light has come. I have forgiven you.  For I must know Love to be free. For a lack of Love hides Eternity from Me.  Thus would I Love Thee.

15 We dedicate this day to the serenity in which God would have you be. Keep it in your awareness of yourself and see it everywhere today, as we celebrate the beginning of your vision and the sight of the real world which has come to replace the unforgiven world you thought was real.  Thank God, it wasn’t.

And again We say “Amen!” So be it!

1 Auguries of Innocence

  by William Blake

To see a world in a grain of sand,

And a heaven in a wild flower,

Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,

And eternity in an hour.

A robin redbreast in a cage

Puts all heaven in a rage.

A dove-house fill’d with doves and pigeons

Shudders hell thro’ all its regions.

A dog starv’d at his master’s gate

Predicts the ruin of the state.

A horse misused upon the road

Calls to heaven for human blood.

Each outcry of the hunted hare

A fibre from the brain does tear.

A skylark wounded in the wing,

A cherubim does cease to sing.

The game-cock clipt and arm’d for fight

Does the rising sun affright.

Every wolf’s and lion’s howl

Raises from hell a human soul.

The wild deer, wand’ring here and there,

Keeps the human soul from care.

The lamb misus’d breeds public strife,

And yet forgives the butcher’s knife.

The bat that flits at close of eve

Has left the brain that won’t believe.

The owl that calls upon the night

Speaks the unbeliever’s fright.

He who shall hurt the little wren

Shall never be belov’d by men.

He who the ox to wrath has mov’d

Shall never be by woman lov’d.

The wanton boy that kills the fly

Shall feel the spider’s enmity.

He who torments the chafer’s sprite

Weaves a bower in endless night.

The caterpillar on the leaf

Repeats to thee thy mother’s grief.

Kill not the moth nor butterfly,

For the last judgement draweth nigh.

He who shall train the horse to war

Shall never pass the polar bar.

The beggar’s dog and widow’s cat,

Feed them and thou wilt grow fat.

The gnat that sings his summer’s song

Poison gets from slander’s tongue.

The poison of the snake and newt

Is the sweat of envy’s foot.

The poison of the honey bee

Is the artist’s jealousy.

The prince’s robes and beggar’s rags

Are toadstools on the miser’s bags.

A truth that’s told with bad intent

Beats all the lies you can invent.

It is right it should be so;

Man was made for joy and woe;

And when this we rightly know,

Thro’ the world we safely go.

Joy and woe are woven fine,

A clothing for the soul divine.

Under every grief and pine

Runs a joy with silken twine.

The babe is more than swaddling bands;

Every farmer understands.

Every tear from every eye

Becomes a babe in eternity;

This is caught by females bright,

And return’d to its own delight.

The bleat, the bark, bellow, and roar,

Are waves that beat on heaven’s shore.

The babe that weeps the rod beneath

Writes revenge in realms of death.

The beggar’s rags, fluttering in air,

Does to rags the heavens tear.

The soldier, arm’d with sword and gun,

Palsied strikes the summer’s sun.

The poor man’s farthing is worth more

Than all the gold on Afric’s shore.

One mite wrung from the lab’rer’s hands

Shall buy and sell the miser’s lands;

Or, if protected from on high,

Does that whole nation sell and buy.

He who mocks the infant’s faith

Shall be mock’d in age and death.

He who shall teach the child to doubt

The rotting grave shall ne’er get out.

He who respects the infant’s faith

Triumphs over hell and death.

The child’s toys and the old man’s reasons

Are the fruits of the two seasons.

The questioner, who sits so sly,

Shall never know how to reply.

He who replies to words of doubt

Doth put the light of knowledge out.

The strongest poison ever known

Came from Caesar’s laurel crown.

Nought can deform the human race

Like to the armour’s iron brace.

When gold and gems adorn the plow,

To peaceful arts shall envy bow.

A riddle, or the cricket’s cry,

Is to doubt a fit reply.

The emmet’s inch and eagle’s mile

Make lame philosophy to smile.

He who doubts from what he sees

Will ne’er believe, do what you please.

If the sun and moon should doubt,

They’d immediately go out.

To be in a passion you good may do,

But no good if a passion is in you.

The whore and gambler, by the state

Licensed, build that nation’s fate.

The harlot’s cry from street to street

Shall weave old England’s winding-sheet.

The winner’s shout, the loser’s curse,

Dance before dead England’s hearse.

Every night and every morn

Some to misery are born,

Every morn and every night

Some are born to sweet delight.

Some are born to sweet delight,

Some are born to endless night.

We are led to believe a lie

When we see not thro’ the eye,

Which was born in a night to perish in a night,

When the soul slept in beams of light.

God appears, and God is light,

To those poor souls who dwell in night;

But does a human form display

To those who dwell in realms of day.

2 I (the Transcriber) asked Brother why the old-fashioned “Thee”; just because it sounds better, or another reason; and that was His answer.

Thank you Dear Brother]
