LESSON ONE HUNDRED-FIFTY-EIGHT

L e s s o n  158

Today I learn to give as I receive. 

Each Gift We get from the Holy Spirit is quite Infinite as It blesses Us, and as We pass it on, it increases exponentially and eternally, as does everything that is Sourced by God.  Such is the Nature of Reality.  Its experience is Infinity, for all Things Good and Real are forever.

You are Good and Real.

¹ What has been given you? – The Gift of knowing You are consciousness and unlimited, moving freely through a Universe of Love and Joy and Peace. – The knowledge that you are a mind, in Mind and purely mind, sinless forever, wholly unafraid because you were created out of Love. – You’re Love forever. – Nor have you left your Source, remaining as you were created. This was given you as knowledge which you cannot lose. It was given as well to every living thing, for by that knowledge only does it live.  You are the living Presence of the Love that We call God, the Substance of all things.  What God is, You are.

He is eternal Love, so You are this Love as well; there is no separation.

You have received all this. No one who walks the world but has received it. – Who walks the world but the Son of God, pretending He is not? – It is not this knowledge which you give, for that is what creation gave. All this cannot be learned. What, then, are you to learn to give today? Our yesterday evoked a theme found early in the text. Experience cannot be shared directly in the way that vision can. – For experience is needful of the little willingness. – The revelation that the Father and the Son are one will come in time to every mind. Yet is that time determined by the mind itself, not taught.  Your willingness is the criteria.

³ The time is set already. It appears to be quite arbitrary. Yet there is no step along the road that anyone takes but by chance. It has already been taken by him, although he has not yet embarked on it. For time but seems to go in one direction. We but undertake a journey that is over. Yet it seems to have a future still unknown to us.

⁴ Time is a trick-a sleight of hand, a vast illusion in which figures come and go as if by magic. Yet there is a plan behind appearances which does not change. The script is written. When experience will come to end your doubting has been set. For we but see the journey from the point at which it ended, looking back on it, imagining we make it once again; reviewing mentally what has gone by. Now You understand déjà vu: all things in the dream are already seen, and already seen again, ad infinitum.

Once should have been enough.  Why wasn’t it?  The dream was addicting.  And so like a losing gambler keeps coming back to the gaming table, sure that He can win, so You return repeatedly to seeming endless dreaming.

⁵ A teacher does not give experience because he did not learn it. – Each One’s experience is tailored just for Him or for Her. – It revealed itself to him at its appointed time. But vision is his gift. This he can give directly, for Christ’s knowledge is not lost because He has a vision He can give to anyone who asks. And what is this Vision but to know the Truth by understanding.  For Vision does understand what S/He is seeing. The Father’s Will and His are joined in knowledge. Yet there is a vision which the Holy Spirit sees because the mind of Christ beholds it too.  Where the ego sees but littleness, Christ sees Infinity.

⁶Here is the joining of the world of doubt and shadows made with the intangible. – God’s Universe does seem to be intangible, nonetheless It is very Real.

Here is a quiet place within the world made holy by forgiveness and by love. – It is a mental place – Reality – intangible to sense yet Real as God.

Here are all contradictions reconciled, for here the journey ends. – There’s nowhere else to go or Be but God.  Not a place, but a state of Mind Divine. – Experience, unlearned, untaught, unseen, is merely there. This is beyond our goal, for it transcends what needs to be accomplished. Our concern is with Christ’s vision. This we can attain. – Anyone can learn to Love a Brother by Her willingness to have Christ’s Vision: ‘Lord, let Me learn to see as You see Me, with humility.’₁

⁷ Christ’s vision has one law. It does not look upon a body and mistake it for the Son whom God created. – What really stands where Your Brother or Your Sister seems to be?  What else is there but Christ, the Son of God? “Open His eyes that He may see!”₁ – It beholds a light beyond the body, an idea beyond what can be touched, a purity undimmed by errors, pitiful mistakes, and fearful thoughts of guilt from dreams of sin. – Let’s let the import of these words sink in: Where Your ‘sinning’ Sister is is Light, Her Be-ing is Divine.  She is so pure and free from willfulness and fear and sad mistakes that come from them.

It sees no separation. And it looks on everyone, on every circumstance, all happenings, and all events without the slightest fading of the light it sees. – This is the Holy Vision of which I speak, and It is within Your grasp, asking only for Your willingness to see It.

⁸ This can be taught and must be taught by all who would achieve it. – How is it taught but by Your willingness to learn to see It.

It requires but the recognition that the world cannot give anything that faintly can compare with this in value; nor set up a goal which does not merely disappear when this has been perceived. – This the only goal. –  And this you give today-see no one as a body. – There is no greater gift to give to Your Sister or Brother. – Greet him as the Son of God he is, acknowledging that he is one with you in holiness.  And does the Gift become Yours as well, for all the Sons of God are loved by God.

⁹ Thus are his sins forgiven him, – and Your ‘sins’ as well – for Christ has vision which has power to overlook them all. In His forgiveness, they are gone. Unseen by One, they merely disappear because a vision of the holiness which lies beyond them comes to take their place. It matters not what form they took nor how enormous they appeared to be nor who seemed to be hurt by them. They are no more, and all effects they seemed to have are gone with them, undone and never to be done.  How can this be?  These things are unknown to God, and what God does not know, the Son must too be ignorant.  How can the Real and Perfect know of aught that It is not?  Why would It when Its very Perfection is but the Correction.

¹⁰Thus do you learn to give as you receive.  As I do see You, so too must You learn to see Your Brother.

And thus Christ’s vision looks on you as well. This is not difficult to learn if you remember in your brother you but see yourself. – So if You would be seen with eyes of Love, then see with eyes of Love.  Give Me Your willingness to do so, and I will transform it into Vision. – If he be lost in sin so must you be; if you see light in him your sins have been forgiven by yourself. Each brother whom you meet today provides another chance to let Christ’s vision shine on you and offer you the peace of God.  To see like this is but to Love as I.

¹¹ It matters not when revelation comes, for that is not of time. Yet time has still one gift to give in which true knowledge is reflected in a way so accurate its image shares its unseen holiness; its likeness shines with its immortal love. We practice seeing with the eyes of Christ today. And by the holy gifts we give, Christ’s vision looks upon ourselves as well.  The Gift of Holiness We bring Our Brother gifts back to Us!

¹ There are many instances in the Bible of opened eyes, i.e. Divine Vision:

“And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And The Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.”  KJV 2^nd Kings 6:15-17

(Transcriber’s Note: As Brother was just speaking the words to open eyes, He brought this Bible passage to mind, and then the startling [to Me] idea that the angels seen were seeing the ‘enemy’ with Christ’s Vision.  And those seen this way were blind to what They really were, as We are blind to what We and Our Brother really are.)

And on the walk to Emmaus, as Brother walked with two of His followers after the Resurrection, They – believing Him to be dead, were unable to ‘see’ Him, until He opened their eyes and then the Scriptures to them:

“And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and He made as though He would have gone further. But they constrained Him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And He went in to tarry with them.

And it came to pass, as He sat at meat with them, He took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew Him; and He vanished out of their sight. And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while He talked with us by the way, and while He opened to us the Scriptures?”
