LESSON TWO HUNDRED-FIFTY SEVEN

Let me remember what my purpose is. Hint: It is not to please the ego ‘self’.  It then must be to let Our God Be Me; to be in line with Our Holy Father.

 

¹ If I forget my goal, – then I’m distracted by the pesky and persistent ego – I can be but confused, unsure of what I am and thus conflicted in my actions. – Yup!  That sounds like ego thinking for Me. – No one can serve contradicting goals and serve them well. – That sounds like Elder Brother’s statement in the Bible: “No-one can serve two masters.”  We cannot Love both God and the ego.  Must be One or the other.  Make the choice! – Nor can he function without deep distress and great depression. – Sounds so much like the human condition. – Let us therefore be determined to remember what we want today that we may unify our thoughts and actions meaningfully and achieve only what God would have us do today. This is the right use of Your mind: to serve God, not the ego.

² Father, forgiveness is Your chosen means for our salvation.  How wonderful! It’s Your Love saving Us.

 

Let us not forget that we can have no will but Yours today. For Truth, there is one Will and that is God’s.  Willful as the ego does appear, it just does not exist. Thus any other seeming ‘will’ is but imagination.

 

And thus our purpose must be Yours as well –there is no other purpose, just as there is no other will – if we would reach the peace You will for us.  Nor is there any other peace but God’s.

What is Sin?

¹Sin is insanity. – To harm or use a Brother is unheard of in Heaven, as We Love and appreciate each Other, which the ego cannot comprehend.  For its own value comes in being better than a Brother. What insanity for equality is what beautifies All of Creation. There are no kings or queens or leaders of the pack for All exists as Harmony. For Love is Its Source. – To think otherwise is nothing but disturbing for it is an insane lie with no foundation.  – It is the means by which the mind is driven mad and seeks to let illusions take the place of truth.  – Illusions it would then impose upon All of its Brothers. Pure insanity. – And being mad, it sees illusions where truth should be and where it really is. Sin gave the body eyes, for what is there the sinless would behold? What need have they of sights or sounds or touch?  – If You could but understand that sensation is a product of the dream, You would be still and very quiet, awaiting the experience of God, instead of the screaming senses. – What would they hear or reach to grasp? What would they sense at all? – This is not how the Son of God cognizes, for He is but aware already. – To sense is not to know. And truth can be but filled with knowledge and with nothing else.  To Know is not to learn for there is nothing hid from You belovèd Son of God.  You have just pretended to ‘forget’, a concept that’s unknown to Reality.

² The body is the instrument the mind made in its striving to deceive itself. Its purpose is to strive. – Bodies speak of separation, while Mind is One.  And Oneness is so effortless. It is pure Joy. – Yet can the goal of striving change. – It rests not upon a permanent foundation. For it does stand on shifting sands. – And now the body serves a different aim for striving. – One more rewarding. – What it seeks for now is chosen by the aim the mind has taken as replacement for the goal of self-deception. – How much more pleasant is Self-awareness! – Truth can be its aim as well as lies. – Truth wills Your mind be always free to make a better choice than it had made before. – The senses then will seek instead for witnesses to what is true.

³ Sin is the home of all illusions, which but stand for things imagined, issuing from thoughts which are untrue. They are the “proof” that what has no reality is real. Sin is but the opposite of the freedom of the holy, blessèd Son of God.  That is what You are.

Sin “proves” God’s Son is evil; timelessness must have an end; eternal life must die.  And God Himself has lost the Son He loves, with but corruption to complete Himself, His Will forever overcome by death, love slain by hate, and peace to be no more.  Sin’s beliefs are so preposterous!  Indeed!  The Son of God did forget to laugh at just such nonsense.

⁴ A madman’s dreams are frightening, and sin appears indeed to terrify. – The ego keeps control of You by fear. – And yet what sin perceives is but a childish game. Childish, wicked game; not all games are fun.

The Son of God may play he has become a body, prey to evil and to guilt, with but a little life that ends in death. Yet what real pleasure do You think You that could find in such a nasty game as this?  A ‘game’ that makes the Son of God but a stranger to Himself.  How very painful.

But all the while his Father shines on him and loves him with an everlasting Love which his pretenses cannot change at all.  Dear Son of God You are so very Loved!  Let Me repeat it: You’re so belovèd! You simply have no idea how much that You are Loved by God.

⁵ How long, oh Son of God, will you maintain the game of sin?  – Think on this: Don’t You prefer Love to fear?  Do You like both, to hurt and to be hurt? – Shall we not put away these sharp-edged children’s toys?  – Don’t You prefer to Love and to Be Loved? – How soon will you be ready to come home? Perhaps today? – Love but awaits You with expectancy.  Your sandals, ring and robe wait by the gate.₁ – There is no sin. Creation is unchanged. Would you still hold return to Heaven back? How long, oh holy Son of God, how long?

Imagine Be-ing sure again that You are so Loved and safe.  You are so cherished.
