LESSON ONE HUNDRED-FIFTY-SIX

L e s s o n  156

I walk with God in perfect holiness.

The reason that You walk with God in perfect holiness is because God is walking as You.  This always is the case.  You do not experience it for You are in Your own reverie, a dream that is much deeper than the sleeping one, where to Yourself You do appear to be awake.  And yet, You aren’t.

Nonetheless Your Holiness remains unchanged by all Your dreams.  Yet in Your dreams You are so fragile, subject at any time to aging, injury even dying!  What a travesty of Reality!  So seems to be the sleeping Son of God.

Your Holiness is never touched by dreams, but stands with God – as God – impervious to all the drama.  Untouched and perfect.

¹ Today’s idea but states the simple truth that makes the thought of sin impossible.  For that is all sin is: a thought so aberrant that You should laugh at it and not believe it.  Yet believe in it so assuredly You do.  And Your beliefs have locked You into repetitive dreaming.

We must clearly state Your Holiness, just as repeatedly to make correction. For when You know the Truth, You are made free.₁

Truth is but synonymous with freedom.  We repeat this till You understand it.

It promises there is no cause for guilt, and being causeless it does not exist.  Thus there is no guilt, because there is no ‘sin’, because it is nothing but a dream.  And dreams aren’t real!  This is but the Truth, being repeated until it sinks in!

Listen carefully:

It follows surely from the basic thought so often mentioned in the text-ideas leave not their source. – You are an Idea of the Mind of God. – If this be true, – and it surely is – how can you be apart from God? How could you walk the world alone and separate from your Source?  This cannot happen, and thus, it isn’t!

² We are not inconsistent in the thoughts that we present in our curriculum. Actually, We are quite consistent!

Truth must be true throughout if it be true. It cannot contradict itself nor be in parts uncertain and in others sure. You cannot walk the world apart from God because you could not be without Him. He is what your life is.  He is Your Be-ing.

Where you are, He is. – How reassuring. – There is one Life. That Life you share with Him. Nothing can be apart from Him and live.  For there isn’t anywhere He isn’t.

³ Yet where He is there must be holiness as well as life. No attribute of His remains unshared by everything that lives.  Therefore, must all things be Holy as He.

What lives is holy as Himself because what shares His life is part of Holiness and could no more be sinful than the sun could choose to be of ice, the sea elect to be apart from water, or the grass to grow with roots suspended in the air.  The entire, endless Universe is Holy.  Do You grasp the happiness – pure Joy – that You’ve lost by dreaming?  Yet has His Love kept it safely for You.

⁴ There is a Light in you Which cannot die, – It is Your Substance – Whose Presence is so holy that the world is sanctified because of you. All things that live bring gifts to you and offer them in gratitude and gladness at your feet. The scent of flowers is their gift to you. The waves bow down before you, and the trees extend their arms to shield you from the heat and lay their leaves before you on the ground that you may walk in softness, while the wind sinks to a whisper round your holy head.  This is the Nature of the Son of God.  And You are that Son.  And the Son include both what You think is ‘male’ as well as what You think is ‘female’.  There is just the Son.

⁵ The Light in you is what the universe longs to behold.  The Son of God illuminates the entire Universe. – All living things are still before you, for they recognize Who walks with you.

They know Your Source, for It is identical with You, with them.  One Source and One Infinite Expression.

The light you carry is their own, and thus they see in you – in Your radiance, Your Holiness – their holiness, and their radiance, saluting you as savior and as God. Accept their reverence, for it is due to Holiness itself Which walks with you, transforming in Its gentle Light all things into Its likeness and Its purity.  For if They follow, They will soon be seeing themselves as this gentle Radiance that glows out from You.

⁶ This is the way salvation works. As you step back, the Light in you – the Holy Spirit – steps forward and encompasses the world. It heralds not the end of sin in punishment and death. God does not punish for He knows no sin.  God does not kill for He is Life Itself.

In lightness and in laughter is it gone, because its quaint absurdity is seen.  And with it go the eons of misery, already forgotten in the illumination of God’s Reality.

Gone now are the horrors of millennia passed in nightmares.  The Love of God gently wipes Your brow like the mother of a child disturbed by dreams.  How S/He does Love You.  Now how safe You feel.

It is a foolish thought, a silly dream, not frightening, ridiculous perhaps, but who would waste an instant in approach to God Himself for such a senseless whim?  Anyway S/He is already there with You, and You are all better.  Safe, and held by the everlasting arms of Love, Our Father-Mother God

⁷ Yet you have wasted many, many years on just this foolish thought. The past is gone with all its fantasies. They keep you bound no longer. The approach to God is near. And in the little interval of doubt – if You might have one – which still remains, you may perhaps lose sight of your Companion, and mistake Him for the senseless, ancient dream that now is past.  But S/He is there forever loving You, the eternal Mother.  How S/He loves You.  And Be-ing loved is Your Reality.

^{8 “} Who walks with me?” – This Love walks with You. – This question should be asked a thousand times a day, till certainty has ended doubting and established peace. Why would You question the gifts of gladness and a peaceful mind?  Allow Yourself to feel His Love for You, because S/He is You.  Reality has no separation.

Today let doubting cease. God speaks for you in answering your question with these words:

⁹ I walk with God in perfect holiness.
I light the world, I light my mind and all
The minds which God created one with me.

For when Light is welcomed by One mind, since minds are Joined, there is a break in darkness.  Illumination seems to have ‘beginning’, this Light that is ever-present You!  And that You which has never gone begins to be remembered.
