L e s s o n  148

My mind holds only what I think with God.

Well, hey!  What about all those other thoughts?  What’s holding them if it is not My mind?

That’s a good question.  It is the interloper, the intruder, the strange “tiny mad idea” that beset the Son of God, so that He could make some ‘new’ decisions on His own.  Drinking in the madness, He did become so drunken with His seeming ‘power’ that He has yet to Awaken.

Everything is within consciousness, and it is not without.  Not so the dream, where everything appears to be inside out.  And yet it isn’t.

You ask why it does appear to be so?  Because the Son did distort extension into projection.  God does extend the Son most Joyously.  The sleeping Son – proud of and yet ashamed of His projections – puts them ‘out there’ as if He had nothing to do with them at all.  They just growed’ on their own.  Fancy that.

These ideas belong not to the Real Mind of the Son of God, that We do now call the Holy Spirit.

[135] If I defend myself, I am attacked.

To feel a need for defense, I must feel attacked by enemies, and that They have power over Me.  Yet do I hand over My power, moment by moment by trusting in the ego, instead of in the Holy Spirit.

And by this misplaced trust, I believe Myself to be an ego when I am really the Son of God.

My experience is truly determined by the use to which I put My mind.

[136] Sickness is a defense against the truth.

Why is this?  Sickness is an emphatic statement that I am a ‘human being’ made of so-called ‘matter’ which is always breaking down, like an XKE, neat car for which One needed a portable mechanic.  This is how We see Our body!

This is attack on God and on His Son.

To drive a sleek sports car is a great boost to the ego, as is Your body identification.  Yet Our dear Father does Know and Love You, not as a body, but as Consciousness.

He Loves You always.
