LESSON ONE HUNDRED-THREE

L e s s o n  103

God, being Love, is also happiness.

Happiness and Love are permanently intertwined: One cannot truly Love without being happy, and One simply cannot be happy without extending Love.

Now the ego mindset may be going wild at this, bringing up all sorts of failed romances, marriages, et cetera.  Remember that I speak of the Real Love that is God that simply gives forever.  For Love is both impartial, universal gifting every One and every Thing.  It is permanent.

Remember, God has never divorced You!  You ran off with the ego (so to speak).  Yet the Love of God has remained constant and safe for You, like the Father of the Prodigal, expectant always of Your glad return.  Your gifts piled high and ready.

¹ Happiness is an attribute of love. It cannot be apart from it, nor can it be experienced where love is not. Love has no limits, being everywhere.

Thus Love could easily speak to the Prodigal, as He sat, in despair, with the pigs, sharing their carob pods for dinner.  It was the Father’s unceasing Love that called to Him, until He finally heard It.

Belovèd Son, belovèd Daughter, how loved You are.  Home waits expectantly for Your glad returning.  Only Good awaits You!  Why not today!

Remember, this is a journey without distance, asking only Your willingness.

And therefore joy is everywhere as well. The Instant (oh so Holy) that You turn around will overflow with it!

Yet can the mind deny that this is so, believing there are gaps in love where sin can enter, bringing pain instead of joy.

Being, itself, unforgiving, the ego mindset not comprehending Love, therefore sees It absent.  And yet, It isn’t.  So It quietly awaits the change of mind that makes It visible.  You know, that “little willingness”.

Only this can remove a belief so foreign to the Real.

² This strange belief would limit happiness by redefining love as limited and introducing opposition in what has no limit and no opposite. Fear is associated then with love, and its results become the heritage of minds that think what they have made is real. These images, with no reality in truth, bear witness to the fear of God, forgetting being Love, He must be joy.

Love had to have been forgotten, or the seeming separation never could have occurred, for it is impossible.  Hence the seeming dreaming.

³ This basic error we will try again to bring to truth today and teach ourselves:

⁴ God, being Love, is also happiness.
To fear Him is to be afraid of joy.

For each time You forgive an Other’s ‘sin’ (that thing that never happened), Love ascends.  Happiness returns.

⁵ Begin your longer practice periods for today with this association, which corrects the false belief that God is fear. It also emphasizes happiness belongs to you because of what He is.

Too long have religions kept their followers in line by portraying God as fearful.  Today We seek to erase this fear deliberately engendered in children.

We wipe it out with the Truth: the Truth that God is Love.  And God Loves each One of Us as if We were the only One, the Belovèd Son.₁  That description is not just Mine, but Yours as well.

⁶ Allow this one correction to be placed within your mind each waking hour today. Then welcome all the happiness it brings, as truth replaces fear, and joy becomes what you expect to take the place of pain. God being Love, it will be given you. Bolster this expectation frequently throughout the day, and quiet all your fears with this assurance, kind and wholly true:

              God Loves You.  You are His

belovèd Son.  Let Your

happiness rise up and sing!

⁷ God, being Love, is also happiness.
And it is happiness I seek today.
I cannot fail because I seek the truth.
