LESSON SIXTY-SEVEN

TRANSCRIBER’S NOTE: The Course text is in bold face. The Guidance is in normal type In His Guidance, He has asked Me to capitalize the pronouns You and We as an acknowledgement of the Divinity of All of Us, an acknowledgement of Equality, an expression of His Love and respect for You. When You see the word ‘YOU’ capitalized in the Guidance, know that He is not just speaking to YOU, He is honoring YOU.

Love created me like Itself.

And It does but continue to create Me identical to It.  As the sun exists by sourcing its rays, so does Love.  There cannot be a Cause if there is no Effect.  And the Effect must be One as Its Cause, in pure and perfect agreement.

Thus is all Creation tantamount to God, equivalent in effect and value.  How could You not then Love Your Brother?  And He must Love You too, along with the Rest of Creation.  How incredible is the scope of Love. And how inclusive.

That’s a lot of Love all Gifted to You!

Will You now allow Yourself to feel it?

¹ Today’s idea is a complete and accurate statement of what you are. This is why you are the light of the world. This is why God appointed you as the world’s savior. This is why the Son of God looks to you for his salvation. He is saved by what you are.

For He has forgotten Who and What He is, the dreaming Son.  You can remind Him, and then You do remind Yourself as well.  What a wonderful good thing it is to be the Son of God.  So like to God as to be One with Him.

Now may You understand My ancient words: “I and My Father are One.” “As My Father moves, I move.”  As He gives, I give.  And as He Loves, I Love.

This is the Gift I have to give My Brothers and All of Creation. Will You not gladly accept It for it comes direct from the Father-Mother God of Heaven.

² We will make every effort today to reach this truth about you and to realize fully, if only for a moment, that it is the truth.

How can I say it is the Truth with such certainty in the face of an ego-centered world?  Simple.  There is no ‘time’ to change things, or to deteriorate them.  What is True is always True, for there is no ‘past’ in which something other than God could have really happened.  When I say that God ‘created’ You, it means no other place than here and now.  Thus this means that Your perfection is right here and now the fact.

This fact does await Your glad acceptance.

In the longer practice period, we will think about your reality and its wholly unchanged and unchangeable nature. We will begin by repeating this truth about you and then spend a few minutes adding some relevant thoughts, such as:

³ Holiness created me holy.
Kindness created me kind.
Helpfulness created me helpful.
Perfection created me perfect.

Let Us put these clearly right now, right here, is this happening:

Holiness creates Me Holy.

Kindness creates Me Kind.

Helpfulness creates Me Helpful.

Perfection creates Me Perfect.

These Love qualities do not lose their Divinity as Me.

⁴ Any attribute which is in accord with God as He defines Himself is appropriate for use. We are trying today to undo your definition of God and replace it with His own. We are also trying to emphasize that you are part of His definition of Himself.

God has not gotten a good rap from the ego, which deliberately portrays God as far-removed, vengeful, angry and helpless to heal the dream. Thus does He punish the Dreamers with sin, disease and death, strange unreal gods spawned by the dream and ever dwelling within it.  And then comes the ego reasoning that You must be like this.

This is the error We correct today.  For God is ever Lovingkindness to All Creation and therefore, so are You.

⁵ After you have gone over several such related thoughts, try to let all thoughts drop away for a brief preparatory interval, and then try to reach past all your images and preconceptions about yourself to the truth in you. If Love created you like Itself, this Self must be in you. And somewhere in your mind, It is there for you to find.

What is this Love but the Real You waiting patiently for You to uncover It.  So has It stood through all millennia of dreaming, untouched by any story.  Reality in all Its shining glory awaits Your discovery of It.

⁶ You may find it necessary to repeat the idea for today from time to time to replace distracting thoughts. You may also find that this is not sufficient and that you need to continue adding other thoughts related to the truth about yourself. – So You may understand Yourself as Love, and not a body. – Yet perhaps you will succeed in going past that and through the interval of thoughtlessness to the awareness of a blazing light in which you recognize yourself as Love created you. Happiness awaits You.  So much happiness and peace does await Your recognition. – Be confident that you will do much today to bring that awareness nearer, whether you feel you have succeeded or not.

Steps toward God never go unrewarded.

⁷ It will be particularly helpful today to practice the idea for today as often as you can. You need to hear the truth about yourself as frequently as possible because your mind is so preoccupied with false self-images. Four or five times an hour, and perhaps even more, it would be most beneficial to remind yourself that Love created you like Itself. Hear the truth about yourself in this.

I am Living Love.  What does that mean? Holy Spirit tell Me.  Let Me shut up the ego babbling and listen to You.

⁸ Try to realize in the shorter practice periods that this is not your tiny solitary voice that tells you this. This is the Voice for God reminding you of your Father and of your Self. This is the Voice of truth replacing everything that the ego tells you about yourself with the simple truth about the Son of God. You were created by Love like Itself.

Love is right now Be-ing Itself as You.  Love is available to You, as You.  It asks for but a little willingness.
